Hastings & Co Solicitors regularly advises employees in connection with their Settlement Agreements (until 29 July 2013 known as Compromise Agreements).

A Settlement Agreement is an agreement between an employer and employee whereby the employee signs away their rights to make claims against their employer usually in return for a sum of money. Employers will often ask departing employees to sign a Settlement Agreement when making them redundant or where there is a dispute.

For Settlement Agreements to be binding the employee must be advised by an independent qualified advisor and usually the employer pays for that advice.

Since 2008 Liam Hastings has advised literally hundreds of employees in connection with their Compromise Agreements/Settlement Agreements.

Hastings & Co Solicitors also advise employers on the use of Settlement Agreements and issues like redundancy and dismissal.
